We are quizzing on Monday about what we have learned using city vocabulary. Our quiz will see if our students met the following goals:
Please see the documents below and make sure your child has completed them. We have gone over these two docs thoroughly the last week and will turn them in Monday. The tasks listed under "Quiz am Montag" are all things we have done in class and can be found on these handouts.
If you notice your child has not turned in Mein Stadtplan (shows up as NTN in INOW), please look at the guidelines below and have them complete the task so they can earn a grade. Danke! We are getting very close to the end of Term 1. I am going to be sad to see each of these students move on to other classes, but I think we've had a great run. As always, let me know if you need anything.

Over the last week, we have started talking about things we like and don't like:
As well as what we like to do:
We will have a test THURSDAY, September 13th. Although it was supposed to be tomorrow, students do not seem ready yet, so I am postponing it. In order to be successful on their test, they need to:
Small-group testing will take place within the classroom again. Please feel free to email me any questions!
What a blessing it has been to hear these students speak German! They demonstrated what they have been learning by introducing themselves to the class. Each student stood up at their desk and gave a brief introduction without notes. I'm very impressed! Since then we have been learning how to describe someone. Your child has learned physical descriptors (height, hair color, etc.), as well as a few basic clothing items. As seen by their most recent quiz, they can identify a person based on a description and recognize color names. Students made a Reisepass (passport) this past week to record their achievements in German class (these are kept in the classroom until the end of the 9 weeks). Every time they achieve a new goal, they will get a "stamp" in their passport! This week, students will be practicing describing themselves. We have already started this with support, but I will ask them to describe what they look like and what they are wearing on Wednesday. Here are a few sentence frames for them to practice at home:
See below for some of our handouts from last week! Please note that the paragraph on the back of the Descriptions handout was a 10-pt grade. I have opened a Google Classroom to share docs easily with students. I have created a Remind as well to help you know when to remind your child to study for upcoming Tests and Quizzes. Vielen Dank! Please let me know if you need anything.
