Hallo Parents!
Things have been going smoothly in German class! We have successfully completed our first three units on: Introductions, Descriptions, and Activities. In addition to being able to introduce themselves, your child should now be able to:
Please check with your child to make sure they are making up any NTN they have in the grade book. Pay attention to any notes that indicate I have graded the assignment but am unable to enter a score due to an unexcused absence (try contacting the main office to get that sorted out; then email to let me know I can enter the score). Today we finished drawing city maps in preparation for Unit 4, where we will learn common building names and to follow simple directions. Please check with your child to make sure they turned in their city map today. If they didn't, they can still turn it in tomorrow! You can find that assignment and additional assignments on my website fraubowman.weebly.com under "Class Worksheets." Our next unit is on food! If you would be willing to provide some German snacks for our class, please send me an email. It would be greatly appreciated and makes great memories for the kids! I have loved getting to know your children. I can't believe we are about halfway done with this term! Please let me know if you need anything. Blessings, Kelly Bowman

Hallo from the German Classroom at Liberty Middle School! This week has so far been a fantastic start to Term 3! I love that your child has signed up to take German. If you haven't already looked at our class syllabus, I recommend doing so to familiarize yourself with the course expectations and procedures. I wanted to go ahead and let you know that we are having a short quiz tomorrow on classroom commands. If you have ever taken a world language class before, you know how important it is to be able to understand some basic commands. That is why we start off with them- it is a great way to get students moving and make connections between the English and German languages! On the quiz, your child will:
Please don't hesitate to contact me at any point this term! I am very happy to have each student in German class! Best, Frau Bowman |
